FORTUNA THE SPA TOWN IN MURCIA
Fortuna is situated only 25 km from Murcia, which allow you to reach the capital in only 20 minutes. It is also located only 45 minutes from the beaches of the Alicante region (Torrevieja, Campoamor, Guardamar). As a market town with the famous spa there is strong expat community with excellent services including transport links and medical services. Plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes where you can enjoy a variety of tapas with local gastronomic lunches on offer in every restaurant in the area With rural detached villas available or properties located on established urbanisations like Las Kalendas, close to the town
THE HONDON VALLEY, ALICANTE
Located amongst the mountains, in beautiful countryside, but only 30 minutes from Alicante airport, The Hondon Valley has 2 typical Spanish Villages, Hondon De Las Nieves & Hondon De Los Frailes and a good variety of properties, typical detached villas from €100k which makes it ideal for holidays or residential living
This area enjoys 300+ days of great weather. Summers are very hot, winters quite mild. It is a peaceful and tranquil area, suited to people you want a slow pace of life in a rural setting and you need a car as public transport is limited with the main shopping centre of Elche 20 minutes away. Both villages have a good range of shops, bars and a very active social community which includes, in Nieves has about 4 small but well placed and stocked supermarkets, one of which is English, a 24hr 'La Tienda' , butchers, a fresh bread bakery, a newsagent, a few banks, 2 or 3 hairdressers, gift shops, a post-office, a school, a large Multi-Sport Centre, tobacconist, Bodega Wine merchants and a chemist and a medical centre For a larger selection and bigger shops, Albatera or Aspe or Elche
Because of the of expats into the Hondon region there is now a thriving sale, resale and rental market in the area and there are plenty of new-build or resale villas, fincas or apartments available. Prices are reasonable here and you'll GET A LOT more for your money
PINOSO, LO ROMANO, BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN SETTING
The beautiful and thriving towns of Pinoso and Lo Romano approximately 45 minutes inland from Alicante and the white beaches of Costa Blanca and close to the Murcia, Alicante border It has a population of just under 8,000. Pinoso, also known as El Pinos is named after the pine trees that cover the areas mountain ranges. Pinoso provides a Spanish rural lifestyle, no traffic lights, hardly any traffic, practically the only jams are caused by the tractors taking the grapes to the Bodega.
Pinoso has many bars, restaurants and shops, a new 24 hour medical centre, dentists, two primary schools and 1 secondary school, a theatre. There's an excellent Sports Centre with outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, football pitches and gymnasium, library and many other facilities including a beautiful picnic area among the pines, complete with barbecues, seating areas and running water and an excellent choice of resale and newly built properties
La Romana is a pretty village, located in the foothills of the Sierra del Reclot and surrounded by vineyards, almonds and olive orchards. It is a mountainous area and there are several marble and limestone quarries in the area.
The village has a population of about 2,500 people and has a good selection of shops, bars and cafes. There is also an excellent Saturday market. La Romana has its own bodega, a large sports centre with a large pool, tennis, Paddle Tennis and Basketball courts, a football pitch and indoor gym. The village is close to the towns of Alguena, Novelda, Aspe and Hondon de las Nieves and is a 30-minute drive from Alicante airport and the closest beaches are a 40 minute drive away.
